TAIWAN SCRAP: Stable demand, tighter supply lead to price climbs

Prices for heavy melting scrap (HMS) imports in Taiwan continued to increase in the week to June 5 on stable demand and limited supply, market sources said.

Fastmarkets’ daily price assessment for containerized cargoes of steel scrap, HMS 1&2 (80:20), US material import, cfr main port Taiwan was $238-240 per tonne on Friday, unchanged from a day earlier and $5-6 per tonne higher than $233-234 per tonne cfr Taiwan on May 29.
