POLAND REBAR: Downtrend resumes on pressure from buyers

Domestic steel rebar prices in Poland resumed their decline over the week to Friday June 5 on pressure from buyers with Covid-19-related uncertainty restraining their trading activity, sources told Fastmarkets.

Sources noted a minor increase in trading activity over the assessment week but this was largely from attempts to destock.
"Stockists are lowering prices just to get rid of the old stock. Naturally it means selling with a zero or even negative margin," one trader said.
Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, ex-works Poland was 1,830-1,860 zloty ($465-473) per tonne on June 5, down by 50-60 zloty per tonne over the week.
