Producers seek higher prices in weak European high-carbon ferro-chrome market

The market for high-carbon ferro-chrome in Europe ticked up in the week to Friday June 5 with some producers holding out for higher prices in the face of weak demand.

Fastmarkets’ price assessment for ferro-chrome, high carbon, 6-8.5% C, basis 60-70% Cr, max 1.5% Si, delivered Europe rose by $0.01 per lb to $0.86-1.02 per lb Cr on Friday, from $0.85-1.01 per lb last week .
