US galvanized sheet price slips again; cold-rolled coil price steady

Prices for galvanized steel sheet declined in the United States while cold-rolled coil held steady for the fifth straight week, with buyers mostly satisfied that their steel inventories are keeping pace with the ramp-up in industrial activity after pandemic-related closures.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel hot-dipped galvanized (base) steel coil, fob mill US weakened to $33.50 per hundredweight ($670 per short ton) on Thursday June 11 from $34 per cwt on June 5. Fastmarkets' price assessment for steel cold-rolled coil, fob mill US was unchanged at $34 per cwt ($680 per ton) on Thursday.
