US ferrous scrap export prices rise in latest sales to Turkey, South Korea

The United States' ferrous scrap export market remains strong, with new sales concluded from both the East and West Coast at better prices.

A cargo sale by an East Coast exporter to Turkey on Monday June 15 has just come to light. The 32,000-tonne sale included 17,000 tonnes of an 80:20 mix of No1 and No2 heavy melting scrap (HMS) at $267 per tonne and 15,000 tonnes of shredded scrap at $271 per tonne cfr, with the HMS portion up by $1 per tonne from the previous sale on June 12.
