Export prices for Chinese CRC soften, but HDG gains strength

Export prices for Chinese cold-rolled coil and hot-dipped galvanized coil moved in opposite directions over the past week on mixed sentiment.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel cold-rolled coil export, fob China was $485-495 per tonne on Tuesday June 23, widening downward by $5 per tonne from $490-495 per tonne a week earlier.
Trading was thin during the week with most sources estimating $485-495 per tonne fob to be the lowest price that most major mills were likely to accede to.
