CIS PIG IRON: Market mood positive on low material availability

The mood in the export pig iron market from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) remained positive during the week ended Thursday June 25, with low availability of material for August shipments, although no fresh deals have been made.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for high-manganese pig iron, export, fob main port Black Sea, CIS, was $311-318 per tonne on June 25, unchanged week on week with no new deals heard.
There was a sale reported to China at $348 per tonne cfr, but this was from a port in Russia’s Far East province and thus had no bearing on Fastmarkets’ assessments of the CIS pig iron export markets, which look at shipments from the Black and Baltic Seas.
