China's stainless steel prices rise on increase in restocking activity

China’s domestic stainless steel prices edged up over the past week due to stock replenishing activity, with export prices following the upward move.

Steady nickel prices lent further support to stainless steel prices, market sources said on Wednesday July 1.
The three-month nickel contract on the London Metal Exchange ended Wednesday’s official trading session at $12,620 per tonne, up by $28 per tonne from $12,592 per tonne on June 23.

Stainless steel cold-rolled coil 2mm grade 304 domestic (Wuxi): 13,200-13,800 yuan ($1,868-1,953) per tonne, narrowing up by 200 yuan per tonne from the previous week
