TURKEY LONG STEEL EXPORTS: Soft demand drags down offers

Export offers for Turkish wire rod and rebar softened during the week to Thursday July 2 amid sluggish demand.

The decline in the wire rod segment was more significant than that for rebar.
Wire rod offers largely slid by $10 per tonne over the week to $440-450 per tonne fob, from $450-460 per tonne a week earlier.
But several market participants said that a mill in Iskenderun was offering the long steel product as low as $430-440 per tonne fob.
No bookings involving significant tonnages were heard at the time of writing.
