Summer lull weighs on Europe’s already-weak ferro-chrome market

The markets for high-carbon and low-carbon ferro-chrome both weakened in the week to Friday July 10, with producers lowering their prices further in response to softening demand.

Fastmarkets’ ferro-chrome 0.10% C, average 65-70% Cr, delivered Europe assessment sank by 11-13 cents per lb Cr, or 7.3%, to $1.40-1.64 per lb Cr on Friday from 1.53-1.75 per lb on June 26.
