CIS PIG IRON: Market improves after new sales to China

The market for pig iron exports from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) improved in the week to Thursday July 16 on news of sales to China.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for high-manganese pig iron, export, fob main port Black Sea, CIS, was $320-323 per tonne on July 16, up from $308-310 per tonne a week before.

One sale of Russia-origin pig iron was done in the past week at $353 per tonne cfr in China for 50,00 tonnes with September shipment - equivalent to about $320-323 per tonne fob Black Sea....
