US structural tubing price slips; market questions sheet price increases

The price for hollow structural sections (HSS) in the United States moved lower on Thursday July 23, while market participants expressed doubts about whether a new round of flat-rolled price increases will stick.

Fastmarkets assessed the price for steel hollow sections ASTM A500 Grade B domestic, fob mill US at $750-790 per short ton ($37.50-39.50 per hundredweight) on Thursday, down by $10 from $760-800 per ton the previous week.
