Supervisors at Centinela, Zaldivar copper mines reach labor deals with Antofagasta

Supervisors at Antofagasta’s Zaldivar and Centinela copper mines in Chile have agreed to new contract offers, averting possible strike action at both operations.

The deals were reached following government-led mediation talks that had been ongoing since mid-July.
Prior to this, workers at both mines had successively voted to take industrial action after negotiations for labor contract renewals failed.
Antofagasta had not responded to requests for comment at the time of publication.
