European low-carbon ferro-chrome price rises from multi-year lows

The low-carbon ferro-chrome market (0.10% C) delivered in Europe staged a minor price recovery in the week ended Friday July 24 from the multi-year low set in the previous session, but weak demand is likely to prevent a sustained recovery in the short term, according to market participants.

Fastmarkets’ ferro-chrome 0.10% C, average 65-70% Cr, delivered Europe assessment rose by $0.11-0.15 or 8.6% to $1.55-1.75 per lb Cr on Friday from a fortnight ago.
