Alcoa fails to reach agreement on San Ciprián smelter

The formal consultation period for collective staff dismissals at Alcoa’s San Ciprián aluminium smelter in Spain ended on August 4 without an agreement with the workers’ representatives, the company announced on Thursday August 6.

According to Spanish regulations, Alcoa has no longer than 15 days from the end of the consultation period to announce a decision regarding the smelter.
