Bullish Indian ferro-chrome market continues to boost import prices in Japan, South Korea

Ferro-chrome prices in India have reached fresh highs amid tightening supply and booming demand, prompting further increases in import prices in Japan and South Korea, where demand remains tempered.

Fastmarkets’ fortnightly price assessment for ferro-chrome, high carbon, 57-65% Cr, cif dup Japan rose to $0.71-0.75 per lb on Thursday September 10, up by 3 cents per lb (4.3%) from $0.68-0.72 per lb on August 27.
Similarly, Fastmarkets’ fortnightly price assessment for ferro-chrome, high carbon, 57-65% Cr, cif dup South Korea rose to $0.69-0.73 per lb on Thursday, up by 2-3 cents per lb (2.9%) from $0.67-0.70 per lb on August 27.
