Brazilian demand for steel products hit 1.8 million tonnes last month, down from 1.83 million tonnes in August last year. Consumption also decreased month on month by 2.1% in comparison with 1.84 million tonnes reported in July this year
According to Aço Brasil, consumption of flat-rolled steel totaled 1.01 million tonnes in August, a 5.5% year-on-year drop from 1.07 million tonnes. Those figures, on the other hand, represented growth of 0.9% from 999,000 tonnes in July 2020.
