INTL AL CONF: Alba’s Al-Baqali talks green aluminium, upstream investment plans in Covid-19 landscape

Ali Al Baqali, chief executive of Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), told delegates at Fastmarkets International Aluminium Conference Wednesday September 23. about the need for being “rational” as the market begins to embrace 'green aluminium'.

Alba, which uses a gas-powered smelter and has a goal of producing 1.54 million tonnes of liquid metal material in 2020, faces competition from rival producers creating low-carbon aluminium products using smelters powered by hydropower.
