EU starts expiry review of anti-dumping measures on Chinese wire rod

The European Commission (EC) has initiated an expiry review of anti-dumping duties imposed on wire rod originating from China, it said on Wednesday October 14.

The measure currently in place – an anti-dumping duty in the range of 7.90-24% – will expire on October 16, 2020. The tariffs were set in October 2015.
The EC started an expiry review of the measures following a complaint lodged by regional steel association Eurofer on July 14 this year.
“The request is based on the grounds that the expiry of the measures would be likely to result in recurrence of dumping and recurrence of injury to the Union industry,” the EC said.
