COKING COAL DAILY: Seaborne premium prices tumble; China customs clearance uncertain

Seaborne premium hard coking coal prices tumbled on Friday October 16 with transactions agreed at lower prices after Chinese authorities asked for a halt to imports of Australia-origin coking coal.

The Chinese authorities’ notice was only in verbal form, and has not yet been published, but it led steel mills and traders in China to divert their cargoes to other destinations.
