CIS STEEL BILLET: Mills raise offer prices on lower material availability

CIS-based suppliers of steel billet continued to increase their offer prices for foreign customers at the end of October with support from reduced availability of material scheduled for shipment in December.

Fastmarkets’ daily steel billet index, export, fob Black Sea, CIS, was calculated at $410 per tonne on Monday October 26, up by $4 per tonne day on day.
The recent uptick in import scrap prices in Turkey added to the bullish mood among suppliers.
Fastmarkets’ daily index for steel scrap, HMS 1&2 (80:20 mix), North Europe origin, cfr Turkey, was $282.42 per tonne on October 26, up from $279.59 per tonne cfr a week earlier.
