China's CRC, HDG export prices rise on strong overseas demand

Export prices for Chinese cold-rolled coil and hot-dipped galvanized coil increased in the week to Tuesday October 27 on sustained demand from overseas buyers.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel cold-rolled coil, export, fob China main port was $600-610 per tonne on Tuesday, up by $5 per tonne from $595-605 per tonne cfr in the week to October 20.
Chinese mills offered export material at $615-625 per tonne fob China, an increase of $10 per tonne for some steel mills.
The increase was largely driven by strong demand from overseas markets such as South America, which had been purchasing substantial volumes over the past week.

An eastern China-based trader was heard to have bought 12,000 tonnes of CRC from a local mill at $600-605 per tonne...
