Demand for rebar in Poland continued to slow down over the week, with buying appetite affected by a stricter lockdown in the country since October 24 to contain the spread of Covid-19, sources said.
“We are not in full lockdown yet, but unfortunately we see coronavirus [infections] spreading [widely] now. We operate half-remotely [and half onsite], as well as we can,” one trader said.
Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for
steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, exw Poland, was 1,940-2,000 zloty ($491-506) per tonne on October 30, widening downward from 1,960-2,000 zloty per tonne a week earlier.
The assessment was based on deals, offers and achievable prices heard within the price range.
