LIVE FUTURES REPORT 18/11: LME zinc up 2% amid South African mine collapse

The London Metal Exchange three-month zinc price rose 2% on Wednesday November 18 morning following the news of the Vedanta zinc mine collapse in Gamsberg, South Africa.

The price for the galvanising metal went up to $2,744.50 per tonne at 9am on Wednesday, up from $2,689.50 per tonne on Tuesday's 5pm close. Zinc’s three-month price reached a peak of $2,770 per tonne following news of the mine collapse, its highest price since January of this year.
