EUROPE REBAR: Buyers resisting price rises in South

Domestic steel rebar prices in Europe were fairly stable in the week to Wednesday November 18, despite producers’ push for increases in the south of the region, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, delivered Southern Europe, was €430-440 ($510-522) per tonne on Wednesday, flat from the week before.
In Italy, producers increased their offer prices for rebar, tracking the strength of the international long steel and raw materials markets.
New rebar prices were heard at €410 per tonne ex-works, equivalent to about €445-450 per tonne delivered, up by some €10-15 per tonne week on week.
