EUROPE HRC: Material shortage drives domestic prices further upward

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil in Europe increased again in the week to Wednesday November 18, due to tight supplies, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe, at €537.92 ($638.24) per tonne on Wednesday, up by €8.34 per tonne from €529.58 per tonne on Tuesday.
The index was also up by €13.42 per tonne week on week and by €41.25 per tonne month on month.
Wednesday’s index was based on deals heard at €530-540 per tonne ex-works and achievable prices reported at €530-555 per tonne ex-works.
