CHINA REBAR: Arbitrage window opens on northern, eastern price gap

Eastern China’s rebar prices strengthened further on Friday November 20 amid rising futures, and ended the week 130 yuan per tonne higher, raising the interest of mills in the country’s northern region.

Eastern China (Shanghai): 4,190-4,220 yuan ($631-635) per tonne, up by 40 yuan per tonne
Northern China (Beijing) weekly assessment: 3,850-3,900 yuan per tonne, down by 60-80 yuan per tonne
Prices in eastern China were 320-340 yuan per tonne higher than those in the north during the day, compared with a gap of 130 yuan per tonne a week earlier.
