TURKEY FLAT STEEL: Sharp price increases continue, demand good

Flat steel prices in the Turkish market continued to increase sharply during the week to Friday November 27, while demand was strong, sources told Fastmarkets.

Demand was strong this week because most coated-coil producers and pipe makers had low stock levels, sources told Fastmarkets.
Domestic prices
Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel hot-rolled coil (HRC), domestic, exw Turkey was $660-670 per tonne on November 27, rising from $630-640 per tonne on November 20.
Turkish HRC producers were offering at $670-695 per tonne ex-works for March production, rising from $630-650 per tonne ex-works last week.
Deals were heard at $660-670 per tonne ex-works during the week for Turkish HRC in local market.
