Early last week, at least one company in the region near the northern city of Monterrey applied price increases, and afterwards some scrap sellers were able to achieve higher deals with other companies in the region, sources told Fastmarkets.
In the central Bajío region, different trends were reported, with steelmakers in San Luis Potosí state heard buying at higher prices than before, while clients in other states heard few changes to their prices.
