Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for
steel HDG, domestic, exw Northern Europe, was €680-700 ($816-840) per tonne ex-works on December 2, up by €20 per tonne from €660-680 per tonne ex-works a week earlier.
The assessment reflected achievable prices and deals heard in the market, while official offers have been reported as high as €730-750 per tonne ex-works.
The region’s steelmakers have been offering April-May shipment material, creating shortages for earlier delivery, according to market sources.
