A prevailing shortage of the scrap from which ferro-titanium is almost entirely made saw the alloy gain 17% over the past week to now stand 68% higher than
its low point this year.
Fastmarkets assessed the price for
ferro-titanium, 68-72% Ti, ex-whs, US at $2.85-3.10 per lb on Thursday December 10, up by $0.40-0.45 per lb from $2.45-2.65 per lb a week earlier.
