China's CRC, HDG prices continue to surge on booming domestic market

Export prices for Chinese cold-rolled coil and hot-dipped galvanized coil surged in the past week due to sustained demand among buyers and a bullish domestic market.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel cold-rolled coil, export, fob China main port was $750-815 per tonne on Tuesday December 22, increasing by $30-80 per tonne from $720-735 per tonne cfr a week earlier.
Steel mills offered cargoes at $830-890 per tonne fob in the past week, although sources said the offers at the high end were unlikely to result in any transactions.

“The domestic market is absolutely booming. Downstream end users are seeing such good business that they are procuring a lot of CRC,” a trader in eastern China...
