Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for
steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, delivered Southern Europe, was €590-595 ($724-731) per tonne on Wednesday, narrowing upward from the range of
€575-595 per tonne first recorded before the Christmas break. The price was now at its highest since September 2008.
In Italy’s rebar market, trading was still quiet due to public holidays, with some mills still out of the market but expected to come back on January 11.
