TURKEY LONG STEEL EXPORTS: Prices up on costlier scrap but demand flat

Turkish rebar export prices have continued to go up in line with rising costs for imported scrap, but demand was not yet strong enough to support the increase, sources said on Thursday January 7.

The mills in the country have raised their offers to $660-670 per tonne fob on an actual weight basis, compared with the $650-660 per tonne of last week.

One steel mill was heard selling 20,000 tonnes of rebar to Peru at $635 per tonne fob earlier this week...
