EUROPE HRC: Domestic prices stable in seasonally slow market; price recovery likely later in Q1

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil in Northern Europe have been fairly stable day on day on Friday January 8 due to a seasonal demand slowdown, sources told Fastmarkets.

Transaction prices are expected to increase in the first quarter, according to market participants.
Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe at €667.50 ($820.19) per tonne on Friday, up by €0.50 per tonne from €667.00 per tonne on Thursday.
The index was up by €2.50 per tonne week on week and by €90.00 per tonne month on month.
