Singapore rebar buyers bid higher for imported cargoes on steady demand

Prices for imported rebar in Singapore increased over the past week on steady demand from end users, sources told Fastmarkets on Monday January 11.

Offers for back-to-back cargoes from Chinese steel mills came in at $665 per tonne cfr Singapore on a theoretical-weight basis during the week, while offers from Turkey were at $670 per tonne cfr Singapore. Offers from Qatar came in at $660 per tonne cfr Singapore.
Buyers were bidding at $640-645 per tonne cfr Singapore.
Industry sources estimated that prices were at $640-650 per tonne cfr Singapore.
