Nickel’s three-month price lost 1.65% to trade at $17,375 per tonne at 9am on Monday, compared with Friday’s 5pm closing price of $17,667 per tonne.
This followed a 2.4% slump in the nickel price on Friday from its closing price of $18,109 per tonne on Thursday - a day which saw the metal hit its highest intraday price since September 2019.
