Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, delivered Southern Europe
was €615-630 ($745-763) per tonne on Wednesday, up by €5-10 per tonne from €610-620 per tonne last week.
Italian producers increased their asking prices for rebar this week amid still tight availability, while buying activity was generally low due to seasonally slow construction and a recent downturn in the international scrap market.
"Turkish scrap started to decline last week and kept falling this week
, we expect the scrap price to fall in the domestic market as well," one trader said.
