Operations at the pelletizing plant had been halted since February 2019 after the
Brumadinho tailings dam disaster in January 2019.
The pelletizing plant in Vargem Grande has an annual production of 7 million tonnes, but the plant is expected to produce approximately 4-5 million tonnes per year in 2021, the Brazilian mining major said.
