CHINA REBAR: Restocking demand sparse but prices hold steady

End-user demand for rebar in China’s domestic market weakened on Monday January 25 amid an absence of restocking interest, though prices were unchanged on high production costs.

Eastern China (Shanghai): 4,260-4,290 yuan ($658-662) per tonne, unchanged
Trading companies are actively drawing down their inventories this week and have no plans to restock due to high prices, sources said.
An industry analyst said traders would only restock once prices are at 3,800-4,000 yuan per tonne, but this is not likely to emerge in the short term.
