SOUTHERN EUROPE REBAR: Prices mostly flat, sentiment bearish on scrap downturn

Steel rebar prices in the South of Europe have been largely stable over the past seven days, but sentiment was negative because of a weaker raw materials market, sources told Fastmarkets on Wednesday January 27.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, delivered Southern Europe, was €610-635 ($741-771) per tonne on Wednesday, widening from €615-630 per tonne last week.
Rebar in Italy was heard traded at €590-600 per tonne ex-works (€625-635 per tonne delivered) over the week, up by just €5 per tonne over the past seven days, sources said.
