targeted China, attracted by the high demand, rather than Europe. This has reduced the volumes available in Europe, which in turn has increased prices.
Fastmarkets’ price assessment for
ferro-chrome, high carbon, 6-8.5% C, basis 60-64.9% Cr, max 3% Si, cif Europe, rose by $0.06-0.07 per lb (6.8%) to $0.97-1.07 per lb Cr on February 2, up from $0.91-1.00 per lb Cr on January 26.
