Huta Laziska has an annual production capacity of close to 80,000-90,000 tonnes per year of the grade, and made only minor adjustments to its output in 2020, due to annual planned maintenance measures that meant only a small amount of production losses.
Fastmarkets assessed the ferro-silicon lumpy basis 75% Si (scale pro rata), delivered Europe
spot price at €1,280-1,350 ($1,542-1,626) per tonne on Friday February 5, up €30 at the bottom end from the week before. The market was at an annual low of €860-900 per tonne on August 7 last year. The European assessment had rallied to a 12-month-high of €1,200-1,275 per tonne on February 28 last year, from €900-920 per tonne on November 15, 2019.
