EUROPE HRC: Domestic prices strong on short supply

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil in Northern Europe increased day on day on Tuesday February 16, driven by a material shortage, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe, at €727.50 ($882.53) per tonne on Tuesday, up by €9.37 per tonne from €718.13 per tonne on February 15.
The index was also up by €17.50 per tonne week on week and by €11.50 per tonne month on month.
The calculation of Tuesday’s index was based on achievable prices and transactions heard at €714-740 per tonne ex-works.
