Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for
steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, delivered Northern Europe was €640-660 ($776-800) per tonne on Wednesday, unchanged week on week.
Steel rebar producers in the region had good order books and were in no rush to sell material, while stock levels at buyers was quite low, sources said.
“[Customers] will have to buy eventually and will have to accept mills' prices. There aren't so many options, imports are few so we're mostly turning to European mills,” one trader in Netherlands said.
