Copper’s three-month price hit $8,630 per tonne shortly after 9am, a 2.75% increase from Wednesday's closing price of $8,390 per tonne. Some 15,000 lots had been traded - more than on each of the previous three days.
The bullish momentum in tin continued, with a new high of $25,470 per tonne reached shortly after 9am, marking a 3.6% increase from Wednesday's close of $24,570 per tonne.
The tin price has surged this month, increasing by 10% so far from its February 1 closign price of $23,103 per tonne.
