TURKEY LONG STEEL EXPORTS: Prices keep rising on firm demand, higher scrap costs

Turkish rebar and wire rod export prices have increased sharply over the past week because of rising imported scrap costs and strengthening demand from overseas buyers, market sources said on Thursday February 25.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), export, fob main port Turkey, was $640-645 per tonne on Thursday, up from the $605-620 per tonne of last week.
Turkish scrap import prices have been rising recently due to increasingly firm freight costs and demand from the country’s steelmakers.
