TURKEY STEEL BILLET: Increasing scrap costs push prices further upward

Turkish steel billet prices have gone up over the past week due to the increasing cost of scrap and firm demand in both the domestic and overseas markets, sources said on Thursday February 25.

Scrap import prices in Turkey have been increasing due to the rising freight costs seen worldwide.
Three steel producers booked US- and Baltic Sea-origin cargoes on February 24 at $445-447 per tonne cfr on an HMS 1&2 (80:20) basis.
