POLAND REBAR: Mills raise offers on improved buying

The domestic steel rebar market in Poland picked up during the week to Friday February 26 amid higher offers from producers, supported by good order books and an increase in scrap values, sources told Fastmarkets.

Polish rebar producers have increased their offers for March rolling this week, encouraged by improved buying activity and a rising international scrap market.
March rebar offers from major suppliers were in the range of 2,920-2,950 zloty ($789-797) per tonne ex-works, up from 2,900-2,930 zloty per tonne ex-works in February.
CMC Zawiercie, one of the key domestic suppliers, was reported to be nearly sold out for March rolling, while Cognor, a small EAF-based producer, was said to have “only about 10,000 tonnes of March-rolling rebar left,” according to several sources.
