TURKEY FLAT STEEL: Prices up sharply, H1 2021 mostly booked

Flat steel prices increased sharply during the week to Friday February 26 in Turkey, while most producers have filled their order books until late June, sources told Fastmarkets.

Hot-rolled coil (HRC) producers in Turkey collected orders for June production during the week, while cold-rolled coil (CRC) producers were accepting orders for June, July and August production.
Some market participants believe prices have more room to increase because of increasing raw material prices, while some believe it is too early to book for June production, so preferred to wait.
Scrap prices also increased sharply during the week.
